Aluminum PCB Manufacturer
An aluminum core does not guarantee reliable cooling if the dielectric, copper pattern, mounting interface and assembly are selected separately. LZJPCB reviews the complete 1–2 layer aluminum PCB construction so heat, electrical isolation and manufacturing requirements close before release.

Aluminum PCB Manufacturing Capabilities
A published copper, thickness or thermal value is not useful if it cannot be combined with the required dielectric, holes, outline and finish. We screen the complete aluminum PCB build, then release only the construction that can be fabricated, assembled and repeated.

Aluminum PCB Materials & Thermal Performance
Selecting a material from one conductivity number can hide the dielectric thickness, copper spreading and mounting interface that control the real heat path. Review the complete structure so the released board supports both isolation and thermal transfer.
Answer first
Thermal performance belongs to the complete stack, not the aluminum base alone.
Copper spreads heat from pads, the dielectric provides electrical isolation and controls much of the through-thickness thermal resistance, and the aluminum base carries heat toward the enclosure or heat sink. A useful material review keeps all three layers and the external interface in one calculation.
- Define the heat source, allowable temperature rise and contact area.
- Request dielectric conductivity, thickness and thermal-impedance evidence.
- Review copper area and thickness as part of lateral heat spreading.
- Confirm aluminum thickness, flatness, outline and mounting method.
- Validate the board-to-housing interface instead of rating the PCB in isolation.
Material Compliance for Aluminum PCBs
A company-level certificate does not prove that every dielectric, solder mask or finish in an order meets the same environmental requirement. Name the required standard in the RFQ so the selected material route and supporting documents can be checked before approval.
Record the laminate / dielectric family and supplier data used for the build.
State RoHS, REACH or halogen-free needs instead of assuming automatic coverage.
Confirm whether the requested evidence covers material, process, finished board or shipment.
Tie approved documents and substitutions to the correct part revision.
Single & Double-Sided Aluminum PCB
Adding another circuit side changes the interconnect, isolation and heat path rather than simply doubling routing space. Choose the simplest structure that closes routing, mounting and thermal requirements, then release its actual cross-section.
Single-Layer Aluminum PCB
Use a single circuit layer when one copper side can carry the components and routing without forcing thermal pads, high-current paths or isolation clearances to compete. Its direct copper–dielectric–aluminum construction is easier to review, but the dielectric and mounting interface still determine whether heat leaves the board as intended.
- One copper circuit side over thermal dielectric and aluminum base.
- Useful for many LED, driver and power-conversion layouts.
- Board shape, mounting holes and keepouts must match the housing.
- Release copper, dielectric and aluminum thickness together.
Double-Sided & 2-Layer Aluminum PCB
Move to a two-layer aluminum construction only when the second circuit layer solves a routing or connection constraint that cannot close on one side. The final build must define how layers connect, where electrical isolation is maintained and how the metal core affects drilling, plating and thermal transfer.
Define plated connections, finished holes and any insulation around metal-base features.
Confirm which side carries heat sources and how heat reaches the aluminum base.
Review layer copper, etching and mechanical stability as one construction.
Select the finish from soldering and contact needs, not from a generic layer recipe.
Aluminum PCB Design & Stackup
A layout can pass an electrical review and still fail when a thermal pad, mounting hole or board edge conflicts with the metal-base process. Close the electrical, thermal and mechanical rules in one DFM review before the design is frozen.
Six release decisions
Design the heat path, isolation and mounting interface together.
Match copper, trace width and heat-spreading area to electrical load.
Set isolation, thickness and thermal requirements before choosing material.
Review creepage, clearance, pad spacing and metal-base boundaries.
Define finished holes, insulation, edge distance and mounting hardware.
Align board outline, flatness and interface material with the housing.
Release Gerber / ODB++, drill, outline, stackup, drawing and BOM by revision.
Aluminum PCB Applications
Aluminum PCB is useful when the board must move heat into a controlled mechanical path, not simply because the product runs warm. Compare component density, electrical isolation, heat-spreading area and the final enclosure before selecting a metal-base construction.

LED Aluminum PCB for Lighting
An LED board can still overheat when pad layout, dielectric, aluminum thickness, board shape and the luminaire interface are chosen independently. Review the LED footprint, current, heat density, assembly profile and housing contact together so the board delivers a repeatable thermal path after soldering.
- Match LED pad and copper-spreading geometry to the component package.
- Define round, linear or custom outline and mounting datum from the luminaire.
- Confirm solder mask, finish, polarity marking and optical keepouts.
- Use first-article assembly and electrical / visual inspection to close the process.
Useful when switching devices or power components need a defined route from copper pads through the dielectric to the chassis.
Best fit: controlled heat source + mounting interface
Material, temperature range, vibration, mounting and traceability requirements must be named before an automotive route is approved.
Best fit: project-specific automotive review
Motor, actuator and industrial power boards can use an aluminum base when heat, isolation and enclosure contact are resolved as one system.
Best fit: compact thermal-control assemblies
Aluminum PCB Prototyping & Quick Turn
A fast sample is wasted if it uses a temporary material or structure that cannot continue into production. Freeze the manufacturing baseline during the prototype so thermal, electrical and assembly findings carry forward to the released order.
Check data, outline, material, dielectric, copper, holes and assembly notes.
Approve the actual stackup and document any proposed substitution before build.
Verify dimensions, finish, electrical result, assembly fit and project-specific thermal evidence.
Keep the accepted construction, process controls and revision for repeat orders.
Aluminum PCB Manufacturing & Assembly
A bare board can meet its drawing and still fail in use when soldering, thermal-interface material or mechanical fastening changes the heat path. Align PCB fabrication and assembly inputs before the first panel is released.
One production package
Assembly decisions should preserve the approved thermal construction.
Review LED / power package pads, polarity, paste and reflow requirements.
Confirm finished holes, insulation and component lead process where applicable.
Keep board flatness, fastening and interface-material requirements in the drawing.
Define AOI / visual, electrical and functional checks plus controlled rework limits.
Final SMT / THT scope is confirmed from the BOM, component packages, panel, tooling and inspection requirements.
Review PCB Assembly servicesAluminum PCB Quality & Material Compliance
Thermal claims are not closed by electrical test alone. Verify the released material route, copper image, holes, outline, surface condition and traceability so the shipped board matches the structure the project approved.
Check the aluminum base, dielectric route, copper and drawing against the approved revision.
Inspect opens, shorts, spacing and pad geometry before later processing hides defects.
Verify finished holes, insulation conditions, routing, burr control, flatness and finish.
Check continuity / isolation, dimensions, marking, packing and project-specific evidence.
Tie material and inspection records to the lot, part number and revision.
Project and material compliance remain subject to the selected material system, required evidence and order review.
Review LZJPCB certificationsWhy Choose Us as Your Aluminum PCB Manufacturer
Changing dielectric, aluminum base or assembly assumptions after prototype approval can invalidate the result you tested. LZJPCB keeps the released construction and inspection route tied to the part revision so repeat orders follow one manufacturing baseline.
The page does not turn a metal-base keyword into an unsupported multilayer capability claim.
Material, thermal, electrical, mechanical and assembly inputs close before files enter production.
Approved construction, revision, inspection and material records stay connected.
Aluminum PCB Case Studies
A generic metal-base board photo does not prove that a supplier solved the same heat source, outline or assembly route. Each published case will show the starting constraint, approved construction and measurable verification result.

Get an Aluminum PCB Quote
Two aluminum PCBs can have different costs when dielectric, aluminum base, copper, outline, holes, finish, quantity or assembly changes. Answer the four questions below so engineering can review and quote the same prototype or production build you intend to approve.
Frequently Asked Questions About Aluminum PCB
A metal base should solve a defined thermal and mechanical constraint, not replace material review. Open the relevant question to compare structures and confirm what belongs in the final RFQ.
Aluminum PCB vs Copper Core PCB
Choose aluminum when weight, availability, cost and the required thermal route fit an aluminum-base material system. Consider copper core when the project needs a different heat-spreading, mechanical or power-density balance. Do not select from a universal conductivity number; compare the actual dielectric, base thickness, geometry and interface for both constructions.

Is Aluminum Nitride PCB the Same as Aluminum PCB?
No. Aluminum nitride (AlN) is a ceramic substrate material, while an aluminum PCB in this page means a metal-base construction using an aluminum base with an electrically insulating dielectric and copper circuit. Route AlN material selection to the Ceramic PCB page so the correct substrate process and design rules are reviewed.
