Start with the board your product needs

PCB Design Types & Technical Options

Match the board to its electrical, mechanical and manufacturing constraints. Each option below starts a scope review—not an assumed promise of specialist analysis.

Single-Sided, Double-Sided & Multilayer PCB

Choose the layer structure around circuit density, return paths and the board envelope—not layer count alone.

  • Board outline, mounting and placement constraints
  • Signal, power and reference-plane requirements
  • Density, cost and fabrication priorities

Flex & Rigid-Flex PCB

Define how the circuit bends and fits before layout. Review flexible regions, rigid interfaces and assembly support together.

  • Static or repeated bending and installation geometry
  • Bend-zone routing, coverlay and stiffener requirements
  • Rigid-to-flex transitions and connector placement

HDI & BGA Layout

Plan a BGA escape route that the selected factory can build. Review the package, via structure and available space.

  • Package pitch, pin map and breakout space
  • Via structure and proposed build-up requirements
  • Fabrication, assembly and inspection constraints

RF & High-Frequency PCB

Bring frequency, transmission structure and material requirements into one review before selecting the laminate.

  • Frequency, impedance and acceptable loss requirements
  • Laminate, reference planes and launch geometry
  • Shielding interfaces and validation requirements

High-Speed PCB Interfaces

Use the interface specification and device guidance to set routing constraints. Confirm analysis and validation responsibilities.

  • Interface rate, topology and device constraints
  • Differential pairs, reference paths and matching rules
  • Connector transitions and validation acceptance criteria

Analog & Mixed-Signal PCB

Identify sensitive signals and how performance will be measured. Review supply paths and return currents alongside digital circuits.

  • Signal levels, bandwidth and noise requirements
  • Analog, digital and power placement constraints
  • Supply, return and measurement-access requirements

Power, High-Voltage & Thermal PCB

Review current paths, isolation and heat transfer against operating limits, the environment and project safety requirements.

  • Current, voltage and allowable temperature rise
  • Clearance, creepage and isolation requirements
  • Copper, heat transfer and mechanical interfaces

Embedded, FPGA & IoT PCB

Bring devices, power, clocks and interfaces into one brief. Confirm where layout ends and firmware or board debugging begins.

  • Device pin assignments, clocks and power sequencing
  • Memory, communication and external interface requirements
  • Programming, debug and acceptance-test access

LED & Wireless Applications

Define the product function and environment alongside electrical, thermal, wireless and mechanical requirements.

  • Function, interfaces and operating environment
  • LED thermal paths or wireless integration needs
  • Mounting, space and project validation requirements

These options organize your project requirements, not pre-approved capabilities. Confirm layer range, bend limits, HDI/BGA/interposer scope, RF simulation, SI/EMC evidence, low-noise performance, thermal validation and hardware/firmware responsibilities for the specific board. Check fabrication capabilities and materials & surface finishes when setting manufacturing rules.

Define the task and the handoff

Custom PCB Design & Layout Services

Layout-only work and new hardware development need different inputs. Agree what you already have, what the project includes and how the delivered work will be accepted.

Agree the starting point before design begins
Project starting pointInputs to reviewScope to confirm
Approved schematicSchematic, BOM, outline, constraints and target buildPlacement, routing, review and release package
Functional requirementsInterfaces, power, operating conditions and acceptance targetsCircuit development, component selection and schematic responsibility
Existing board revisionNative project, change list and known issuesCompatibility, permitted changes and revalidation scope

Circuit Definition & PCB Layout

Start with an approved schematic or agree the circuit-development work first. Use one consistent baseline for placement, routing and manufacturing review.

Custom Circuit Board & Hardware Design

  • Confirm circuit ownership, component selection and schematic approval.
  • Define power, interfaces, operating conditions and board limits.

PCB Layout & Routing Services

  • Review footprints, connectors, keepouts and assembly access.
  • Agree stackup, reference planes, controlled nets and DRC exceptions.

Confirm EDA tools, formats, native-file delivery, IP ownership and revision policy. Arrange NDA support before sharing sensitive data.

Mechanical Fit & Manufacturing Handoff

Check how the board fits, then agree how the released design moves into a controlled build. Mechanical development and production stages need their own scope.

PCB Mechanical & Enclosure Design

  • Review outline, mounting, tolerances, connector alignment and heights.
  • Agree 3D fit data, keepouts, assembly access and who approves housing changes.

Prototyping, Fabrication & Assembly

  • Freeze the layout, exceptions and release revision.
  • Resolve fabrication, BOM and assembly questions against that revision.
  • Agree prototype checks, performance validation and the change-review loop.

PCB fit coordination does not automatically include full enclosure development. Design, fabrication, assembly and transport have separate deliverables and schedules.

Qualify the people and the review process

Why Choose Us for PCB Design

Connect your design review with the people and processes that will build the board. Confirm responsibilities, review evidence and an engineering contact before work starts.

Engineering Support, Connected to the Build

LZJPCB is the brand of Shenzhen PCB Electronics Ltd., established in 2006. PCB design and DFM support sit alongside manufacturing and assembly services, with one-to-one engineering support and NDA support for project discussions.

A clear design responsibility

Ask for the named project engineer, relevant experience, reviewer and escalation contact.

Review evidence you can examine

Request an authorized layout example, constraint list, issue log and release review—not only a rendered board image.

Manufacturing coordination

Connect the design rules to the site and processes intended for your board and assembly.

Compare the same design scope

PCB Design Cost & Pricing

A lower design fee may exclude circuit work, source files, specialist analysis or another revision. Compare quotes against the same inputs, deliverables and acceptance requirements before committing the project.

Review decisions, not just a rendered board

PCB Design Case Studies

Ask for a relevant, authorized design example. Review the engineering responsibility and evidence behind the outcome—not an image alone.

What to review in an authorized example

From Design Constraints to Board Release

The example shared for review should identify the work performed, the released revision and the available validation evidence. Customer permission is required before design data or results are published.

Requirement & responsibility
Application, circuit baseline, board structure, constraints and LZJPCB’s actual work.
Decision & review
The design difficulty, chosen approach, constraint/DRC records and customer approval.
Release & evaluation
Delivered files, board revision and any documented SI, EMC, thermal or functional results.
Permission & confidentiality
Confirm customer consent, anonymization and image/design-data rights.

PCB Design for Manufacturing

Connect the configured design checks to fabrication and assembly requirements. Release one consistent, reviewed file set; a clean routing view alone does not establish performance.

PCB Design Rule Check (DRC)

DRC checks the design against configured rules. Review which constraints were enabled and how violations were resolved; a “pass” does not by itself establish complete DFM coverage or working circuit performance.

  • Clearance, trace width, via and connectivity rules
  • Net-specific and interface constraints included in the review
  • Unresolved violations, deliberate exceptions and approval
  • Rule settings, report scope and the released board revision

Confirm the project rule set, review procedure and availability of a redacted report.

PCB Fabrication & Assembly Drawings

Incomplete or mismatched output files can cause another clarification round after design is finished. Agree the required data and formats up front, then release every item against one revision.

  • Native project and libraries, where included in the agreement
  • Fabrication data, drills, stackup and manufacturing notes
  • BOM, placement coordinates and assembly drawings
  • Outline, critical dimensions, finish and acceptance notes
  • Revision index, approved changes and release record

Agree input/output formats and ownership before release. Stencil, test-jig design and functional test development require separate scope confirmation.

PCB Design Standards & Project Requirements

Agree the applicable edition and product-specific safety or qualification requirements with the responsible engineer. These references address different design topics.

ReferenceDesign topic
IPC-2221Generic printed-board design requirements
IPC-2152Current-carrying capacity in printed-board design
IPC-7351Surface-mount design and land-pattern requirements

IPC-2221A and IPC-2221B are edition-specific references; do not simply reuse an old drawing note. Confirm current applicability, including any no-longer-maintained references. A standard name is not a company certification or proof of product compliance.

PCB Design Services FAQs

Check which engineering work and manufacturing stages your request should include.

What Is the Difference Between PCB Design & PCB Layout?

PCB design can cover circuit definition, schematic work, physical layout and the release package. PCB layout focuses on placing and connecting components against the approved schematic and constraints. The terms are sometimes used broadly, so the quote should identify exactly which circuit work, layout, review and files are included.

Review the service boundaries

Can PCB Design Include Prototyping, Manufacturing & Assembly?

Yes—those stages can be discussed together with LZJPCB’s design and manufacturing services. Agree the design release, factory review, prototype build and validation responsibilities separately. Bare-board fabrication, BOM procurement, assembly, functional testing and logistics are not automatically included in a layout-only fee.
